Help Secure Your Online Communications With HTTPS Everywhere

Any online transaction (e.g., loading a web page) is not inherently secure. This means that any personal information that is transferred to and from your computing device is susceptible to being captured and read by a third party.

As many users know, one way to add a layer of security is to ensure that the site you are visiting has a secure (i.e., encrypted) connection, denoted by the https:// at the beginning of the site’s URL. Many popular sites now offer such a type of connection, but may not have it enabled, by default, putting an unnecessary burden on the user to check off the appropriate account setting.

A Chrome/Firefox extension, called HTTPS Everywhere, aims to remove this barrier to security. Read more

Now, Google has addressed this weakness, and made an extension that enables these key products to operate similarly to any other application you have installed on your computer. Read more

Obtain A Unified Experience For iTunes, Spotify, And Rdio With Simplify

OS X only: I’ve been a fan of iTunes ever since I got my first Mac. For the first time, I had found an application that handled the purchase, organization, and playback of a variety of different content with aplomb. Yet, I have found myself  being attracted to the abundance of new, online music streaming services.

Usually free (or freemium), these services provide different ways for you to discover new music and access your tunes no matter where you are. The downside is that I now have multiple applications on my computer for listening to music, and they often conflict with each other for control of the playback function keys on my keyboard. In addition, it’s a hassle to have to switch back and forth between each app.

I want one application to rule them all. Can Simplify address these issues? Read more
