Learn How To Change Your Facebook URL

As we sign up for online services, we rarely take the time to notice things like the aesthetics of our profile URLs. As time goes on, we may decide that we’d prefer something more professional or user-friendly than our initial choice. Luckily, Facebook makes changing your profile URL a facile process.

Changing your Facebook URL is synonymous with changing your account username (please keep in mind that Facebook only allows you to do this once, so be judicious in your selection process). In order to do this:

  1. Log into your Facebook account and click on Account at the top of the screen, followed by Account Settings.
  2. Under the Settings tab, select the Change link next to your Username.
  3. Enter your new choice and click the Check Availability button.
  4. If it is available, Confirm your new username.
  5. Once completed, you will get a confirmation message with your new profile URL.

That’s all. Now, you have a new Facebook profile URL.

Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately, like I stated in the post, Facebook only lets you do this once. If you already changed your username and are not happy with your choice, you can try contacting their support team (http://goo.gl/8aE88) to see if there is anything they can do to help before you take more draconian measures.
